Jiliang Chang (常済良 Cháng jì liáng) is a young apprentice at Man Mo Temple.
Biography[]
Jiliang is a busy worker who is often seen sweeping the grounds or looking after the temple library. Unlike his lazy co-worker Shiquan Fu, he works hard.
Jiliang is very polite and respectful, and greatly honors the Temple and it's master, Xiuying Hong. She is his role model and he inspires to be like her, and really admires her wisdom. When Ryo Hazuki asks him where he can gamble, he is very shocked and horrified, and tells him that he cannot help him with that, honoring the Temple's code. He is the complete opposite of Shiquan.
Shenmue II[]
Ryo first meets Jiliang when searching for Master Mo to find out the name of the last wude. Jiliang tells him visitors are not allowed, and asks him to leave. If the player chooses to "Intrude", Ryo then asks him to ask his master, and once he is away, Ryo intrudes the temple. Choosing to "Negotiate" will have Ryo try to convince Jiliang to let him inside the Temple, but to no avail. The option to negotiate or intrude will come up again. Continuing to negotiate will have Jiliang tell Ryo to leave, and he'll have to come back the next day to intrude.
Jiliang is also seen when Ryo has to air out the books of the temple library. He will sort out the books while he airs them out.
