The Abe Store (阿部商店 Abe Shōten), sometimes referred to as the "candy shop" is a small general store in Sakuragaoka owned by Setsu Abe in Shenmue. The shop is also Setsu's home. Ryo can buy items like food for him and the orphaned kitten. In front of the store is a drink vending machine and two capsule toy machines which are of Virtua Fighter and Sonic the Fighters. The shop opens at 9:00 AM and closes at 7:00 PM.

Trivia[]
- As seen in a beta screenshot in the 1998 Shenmue Premiere art booklet, the Abe Store was originally going to be called the "Saitō Store" (斎藤商店). This also suggests that the owner of the store's surname was originally going to be "Saitō" rather than "Abe". [1]
- The old white vending machine outside of the Abe Store, features a picture of a man holding some kind of small bottle. This man is Hiroshi Fujioka, who is best known for his role as Segata Sanshiro in the Japanese Sega Saturn commercials. He also is the Japanese voice actor for Ryo's father, Iwao Hazuki in Shenmue and Shenmue II.
